Terms of Service
Introduction and Definitions
This document constitutes the main agreement (hereinafter "Agreement" or "Terms and Conditions") between you and Lawio.
By accessing or using the Platform, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to comply with these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Platform.
Definitions:
- "Platform" - Lawio website (lawio.ge), mobile applications, and all associated services.
- "Client" / "User" - Any individual or legal entity that uses the Platform to receive legal services.
- "Partner" - Lawyers, attorneys, or law firms registered in our partner network.
- "Order" - A formal request for legal services submitted through the Platform.
- "Services" - Legal services provided by Partners through the Platform.
- "Company" / "We" - Lawio, the Platform operator company (LLC Web3 Development Group (ID: 405819903) 7a Bakhtrionis St., Tbilisi)
- "Support" / "Support Team" - Lawio's duty operators and coordinators responsible for communication with users and order coordination.
Platform Description and Role
Lawio operates as an intermediary platform that connects Clients with qualified lawyers. We ensure:
- Discovery and selection of legal service providers
- Communication between Clients and Partners
- Document management and exchange
- Payment processing
- Case progress tracking
Lawio does not directly provide legal services to users. All legal services are provided by independent partner lawyers and attorneys who are licensed to practice law under Georgian legislation.
The Platform's role is limited to:
- Facilitating connections between Clients and Partners
- Providing technological infrastructure for service delivery
- Processing payments on behalf of Partners
- Maintaining records and documentation
Registration and Service Request Process
User registration on the Lawio platform is possible through the website Lawio.ge.
Registered users can request desired legal services through the platform, track order progress, make payments, etc.
Clients may initiate a service request through the following channels:
- Web Chat - Through the web chat feature on lawio.ge
- Service Page Form - By completing the inquiry form on a specific service page
- User Portal - After registration, through the personal dashboard
Required Information:
When submitting a service request, Clients must provide:
- Description of the legal matter
- Preferred location for service delivery (if applicable)
- Contact information (email, phone number)
- Any relevant documents or supporting materials
Partner Selection
After receiving a service request, Lawio's support team determines the appropriate Partner or Partners based on service category, complexity, location, execution deadlines, and other criteria.
If there are several suitable Partners, the platform allows the user to choose their preferred Partner themselves.
Consultation and Order Formation
Initial Consultation:
After Partner selection, an initial consultation is held between the Client and the selected Partner. The consultation may be conducted:
- Online - Via video call, phone, or the Platform's messaging system
- In-person - At the Partner's office or a mutually agreed location
Service Terms and Fee Agreement:
During the consultation, the Partner and Client agree upon:
- Information to be provided to the Partner within the scope of legal services
- Estimated completion deadlines
- Service fee and payment schedule
- Any additional costs
- Any additional procedures
Contract Formation:
Upon reaching an agreement, a service contract is executed between the user and the Partner if the specific service (for example, criminal law cases, civil law cases, etc.) requires it. Otherwise, Lawio platform's general consumer agreement applies between the user and Partner.
Payment Terms
Service fees are calculated only in Georgian Lari (GEL).
Payment Schedule:
Payment terms are established between the user and the Partner, and these terms are reflected in the contract and in the specific order details on the platform. The payment schedule may include:
- Full upfront payment - Entire fee paid before services commence
- Milestone-based payments - Payments tied to specific stages of the case
Payment Methods:
- Via Invoice - Bank transfer from both Georgian local banks and foreign banks.
- Visa/MasterCard/Amex - Bank card payment directly from the Lawio platform. Bank card payments are processed by JSC Bank of Georgia, and Lawio does not store user credit card data.
- Cryptocurrency - Users can pay for services using any cryptocurrency. Cryptocurrency transactions are processed by LLC "Whitebit Georgia" (ID: 405520217, 71 Vazha-Pshavela Ave., Tbilisi. National Bank of Georgia VASP license #0007-9404, https://nbg.gov.ge/en/page/virtual-asset-service-providers-vasps)
Service Delivery and Updates
Partners maintain direct communication with Clients:
- By phone and email
- Through personal meetings
- Via the Platform's messaging system
Platform Notifications:
The Platform provides automated updates on:
- Case status changes
- New document uploads
- Payment reminders
- Important deadlines
Users receive important updates during the case progress through:
- Lawio personal cabinet
Client Access to Records:
Clients have access to case history and status, all uploaded documents, payment history and invoices.
Refund Policy
Refunds to users may occur in the following cases:
Full Refund:
A full refund is possible if the order has already been placed, payment has been made by the user, but for certain reasons the Partner is unable to start the order procedures.
Partial Refund:
- Scope of work reduced by mutual agreement
- Overpayment identified and confirmed
No Refund:
- Services fully rendered
- Client's lack of cooperation caused service delays
- Unsuccessful case outcome (legal results are not guaranteed)
This refund policy applies to all orders made through the Lawio platform unless otherwise provided in an additional agreement between the user and the Partner.
Refund Process:
To initiate the refund process, the user must submit a refund request to Lawio via email (support@lawio.ge) with the specific order number, reason, and preferred refund method. The platform will review the request within 7 business days, and if approved, the refund will be processed within 2 business days.
Dispute Resolution
Informal Resolution:
In the event of a dispute between Client and Partner, the parties shall first attempt to resolve the matter through:
- Direct negotiation between the parties
- Mediation facilitated by the Platform
Platform Mediation:
The Platform offers mediation services for disputes:
- Either party may request Platform mediation
- The Platform reviews the case and proposes a resolution
- Both parties may accept or reject the proposed resolution
- Mediation is non-binding
Formal Complaints:
For formal complaints regarding Partner conduct:
- Submit a written complaint through the Platform
- The Platform investigates within 15 business days
- If professional misconduct is suspected, the matter may be referred to the Georgian Bar Association
Arbitration:
Disputes not resolved through mediation may be submitted to arbitration under the rules of the Georgian International Arbitration Centre. The seat of arbitration shall be Tbilisi, Georgia. The language of arbitration shall be Georgian or English. The arbitration award shall be final and binding.
Court Jurisdiction:
Nothing in these Terms prevents either party from seeking relief in the courts of Georgia for urgent or injunctive matters.
Limitation of Liability
Platform Liability:
To the maximum extent permitted by Georgian law:
- The Platform's liability is limited to the amount of fees paid by the Client for the specific service giving rise to the claim
- The Platform is not liable for acts or omissions of Partners
- The Platform is not liable for legal outcomes
- The Platform is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
Partner Liability:
Partners are independently responsible for:
- The quality of legal services provided
- Professional malpractice claims
- Breach of client confidentiality
- Violations of professional ethics
Force Majeure:
Neither party shall be liable for failures or delays caused by circumstances beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to: natural disasters, war or civil unrest, government actions or regulations, pandemic or epidemic, technical failures of third-party services.
Governing Law and Jurisdiction
Governing Law:
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Georgia, including but not limited to:
- Civil Code of Georgia
- Law of Georgia on Consumer Rights Protection
- Law of Georgia on Advocacy
- Law of Georgia on Personal Data Protection
- Law of Georgia on Electronic Communications
Jurisdiction:
Subject to the arbitration provisions in the Dispute Resolution section, the courts of Georgia have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from these Terms.
Language:
These Terms are drafted in Georgian, English, and Russian. In case of discrepancy, the Georgian version shall prevail for legal interpretation purposes.
